Week twelve - jersey girl

This is my inspiration for week twelve. I love the easy, relaxed feel of this picture and this dress. I think the way it hangs is really fun and so easy to wear.

This pattern I have had for a while now and its been at the top of the pile of favourites to make. The pattern suggested a light knit fabric but I think jersey would work well too.

The separate back piece stood out to me to do something fun. Make it more
of a focal point.

This is the fabric I found. The brown jersey is really soft and would drape well and almost had flecks of pink so then I found the pink and green pattern, which goes well with the brown I think. So this fabric can be used for the back panel to create that focal point.

Here is the final dress. It hangs exactly how I wanted. The back I love, it drapes really well with loads of pleats, with a little help from the belt. I think the patterned print adds a little difference and fun to the dress. Very exciting and I think this is my favourite thing I have made, so far. What do you think? I hope you like.
