Week Seven Delights

Following the nightmares of the glove failings I had one day left to complete a creation for week seven. I had to make something fun. I had to bounce back with a little gem. Also maybe something to celebrate the beginnings of the christmas season. In my last post I mentioned that my boyfriend took part in a competition and while there the organisation of each fight was sometimes done in a round robin style. I didn't really understand this much, not an expert. To me when I hear robin I ofcourse think of robins with their little red breasts. So ever since saturday I had the image of a little robin in my head and wanted to make something from this. In a few blogs around and just in shops generally at the moment there are lot of crafty christmas ornaments and decorations and some made from felt. So what did I do? I dug up the felt.

Here are the colours I have chosen for the robin. I sadly dont have a brown so had to use some black for the little robin.

A little sketch before cutting out. Its good to get everything sorted in my head first. Even if I change it al when sewing! lol!

Awwww what a cutie. I added a chain so can be worn as a necklace or could be turned into a broach aswell. Looking at it now I wish that I had used white thread on the red and then a black thread on the black felt. but still pleased.

Once I got started I couldn't stop.  A little christmas pudding was created next. This I really love. So so simple, looks fun and thank you again crafty creatives for the ribbon and jingle ball to add detail.

I decided to make a little broach and I am super happy with how it looks.

So after an up and down week of highs and lows I feel comfortable in closing the week with these little felty treats. What do you think? I hope you like them and merry christmas.

  2. Oh my word you are just the craftiest thing in the world, I love your robin and your pudding! They're so pretty. I want to try it myself. I've asked santa for a sewing machine for Christmas and I'm a bit freaked out as I don't have a clue how to use it but I can't wait!

    1. Thank you. They were really fun to make. Im hoping to make more puddings in different, patterned fabrics too. I think they might be cute. I have asked santa for a new sewing machine too. Mine doesn't do a lot sadly. I am going to struggle to use a fancy one too. No idea really. but its so much fun to learn!
